ABSTRACT

The effect of synthesized ionic liquid (ILs) on the stability of bovine serum albumin (BSA) were studied. Investigation of the interactions between ionic liquid and BSA was performed using fluorescence spectroscopy. Fluorescence emission data revealed that BSA fluorescence spectra quenched by various concentrations of ionic liquid, which implies that ionic liquid-BSA complex has been formed. The results showed that ionic liquid quenches the fluorescence intensity of BSA through a static quenching process. Time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy were also used to determine fluorescence decay time which enables to determine the quenching mechanism. Read more…
